GE Healthcare Japan began selling the highest-end model "LOGIQ E9 with XDclear" for ultrasound diagnostics on April 1, 2013. Mainly for core hospitals in the second and third-grade medical districts engaged in high-end medical treatment.
The new model uses the new probe "XDclear Transducer" developed in Japan. This probe is characterized by "consideration of image quality and diagnostic depth" (General Electric Medical Japan). According to the company, the new model can evenly draw high-resolution images from the body surface close to the skin to the depths of the body, which is conducive to timely detection of small diseases such as liver and pancreas.
Both image quality and diagnostic depth are achieved by adjusting the probe material. For example, the original ceramic is replaced by a high-density single crystal. General Electric Medical Japan said, "Processing high-density single crystals requires cutting in μm and optimizing subtle processing conditions.
