In the process of using ICP spectrometer, the most frequently encountered problem is that there is no fire, what are the main reasons for not catching fire? We conclude that most of them are caused by the following reasons.
1, the problem of connecting pipes
Check whether all the pipeline connections such as the torch spray chamber of the ICP spectrometer are correct, whether there is air leakage at the joint, and the tiny air entering the neutron torch may cause the ignition to fail or the plasma in use is extinguished, or the analysis result is poor.
2. Argon purge
If the air in the torch and the spray chamber has not been completely purged by argon, the plasma may not be ignited during the first ignition. The second ignition may ignite. In addition, the atomizing gas flow must be zero before ignition.
3. Organic vapor
After the organic sample is measured, some organic vapor may remain in the torch and the atomization chamber. These organic vapors may affect ignition. Clean the spray chamber if necessary.
4, low boiling organic samples
A higher power operation is required to maintain the plasma, such as methanol.
5, the plasma gas path is not smooth
If the gas path in the ICP spectrometer is distorted, it will hinder the flow of argon gas and also affect the ignition.
6, the waste liquid line is blocked
If the waste line is clogged, the waste liquid in the spray chamber will not be effectively discharged, causing the plasma to extinguish or fail to ignite. A good indicator of drainage is to see a section of air bubbles in the waste line flowing with the waste liquid. Otherwise, adjust the waste line pressure or replace it.
7, the torch is not installed
The torch is not installed, not correct, or leaking will affect the ignition.
8, low purity argon
The purity of argon is important. If the purity of argon is insufficient or contaminated, the plasma may not be ignited. Typically 99.999% argon is required.
9. The high frequency coil is not the same as the rectangular tube; the circulating water temperature is set too low.
11, first determine the gas path system is no problem, the torch is clean, and then consider the following issues.
There is no discharge? If there is no discharge, it is a problem of discharge. If it is discharged, but it does not catch fire, it is the question of the high-frequency coil. If it is turned off, it may be a problem with the sightseeing head.
12. If the torch or coil is not moved to ensure that the torch is not damaged, consider the problem of the RF power tube.
